Time to Pull the Plug
After eight weeks, a handful of teams have risen above the rest and most are still trying to angle a spot for the playoffs, but a few can already give up on their seasons. Many owners will realize their clubs have no shot over the next month--most when they cross the dreaded eight loss threshold--so those of you who have only one or two wins at this point should start dumping your stars for keepers now, instead of joining the firesale that will inevitably occur right before the Kentucky Fried All-Star break (in the middle of February).
Three pieces of advice for the losers (and having been there myself, I say that as lovingly as possible): 1) It may be hard to part with a star, but next season you won't give a rat's ass about the guy you drafted in the second round this year.
